Passion Project Framework for Students
We’re getting close to the end of the year and it’s the perfect time to engage your students in a passion project to keep them engaged! We’ve put together a passion project roadmap complete with stages and tasks so students can move through their work more independently. Let your students see the small stuff and the big picture.
A solid project plan provides enough structure to answer these questions: Where do I start? What do I do next? Where am I going?
STAGE 1: DISCOVER PASSIONS
Sky's the limit! What are you interested in? What are you passionate about? Brainstorm and narrow down a topic.
STAGE 2: PROPOSAL
You've got your topic! What do you plan to do to become an "expert" on this topic? Consider what your final product or activity will be, mentors (supporters) to help you along the way, and areas of research.
STAGE 3: BUILD EXPERTISE
You don't become an expert overnight. Choose one or more research methods to explore your topic deeper.
STAGE 4: CREATE AND SHARE
Now that you know more, what can you do with that knowledge? Find a creative way to act on it. Share your progress with others along the way to get feedback. Even experts need fresh ideas to help them see things differently. Make adjustments and improvements where you can
STAGE 5: SHOWCASE
Here's where you bring it all together. This is your chance to showcase what you've learned and what you've accomplished. How can you make your presentation relevant and engaging for your audience, while highlighting your progress?
Do you like what you see?
If you found this helpful, you will find the Spinndle App. VERY helpful. Passion Project tasks and scaffolds are baked into Spinndle. Students move through tasks attaching evidence. When they post, they share their process with peers getting the insight, inspiration, and feedback they need to feedforward in their projects!
Keep your students organized and connected!
